The Madhusudan Institute of Co-operative Management (MICM), Bhubaneswar is one of the premier Management Institute of the state established in the year 1955-56. This is an unit of National Council for Co-operative Training (NCCT), New Delhi, being promoted by the Ministry of Co-operation, Government of India. The basic objective of the Institute is to develop human resources for efficient management of various co-operative institutions/ organizations  functioning in the State, through various management training programmes.
 

The Institute is having the privilege to be located at the heart of the city in Unit-8, Bhubaneswar. It is functioning in its own building extending to an area of 3.4 acres of land. The present administrative and training block is a two storied one. Besides, it possesses a well-furnished hostel accommodating to 150 boarders. Most of the programmes conducted at this institute are residential.

The Institute organizes training Programs of short/medium/long term duration for the officials of the Registrar for Cooperatives Societies, for Directorate of Cooperative Audit, Department for Co-operation Govt Odisha. The Institute act as a nodal agency for “PradhanMantri Fasal Bima Yojana programmes” organized all over the state,  for Directorate of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Govt of Odisha. Institute conducts Induction Training, MDPs, Refreshers courses and Capacity Development Program  for the officials of Directorate of Textiles & Handlooms and Weavers of Co-operatives respectively. 

Apart from the above need based training programmes are organized for the Welfare of farmers/Women /youth on request of various ministry/departments of Central/State Governments like NABARD, WDRA, APMC, SEBI, Fishery, Handicraft, Forest, Labour etc.

In every Academic  year Diploma/Certificates Programmes are run for the officials of the Indian Navy, Army and Air force on demand of Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India.

Above to all, this Institute running 2 years Full time AICTE approved MBA programme since 1998, in affiliation to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, recognized by Department of Higher Education Odissa.

The 26 weeks Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management (HDCM) is a flagship programme of the Institute and is duly approved by the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), New Delhi.
